The steamer Allesandro, from La Paz, brings intelligence that ten men were asphyxiated in the Big Triumfo mine, forty miles from La Paz, Lower California. A fire broke out early in July, and, it being discovered that eight Mexicans were below an likely to perish, two of the American managers went down to rescue them, but all lost their lives.
