Portable scale
Description
Chinese portable balance used for weighing precious metals, it preserves all its accessories (plate, bone/ivory stick, weight and axle thread). It worked by tying the threads to the perforations of the plate and these to one end of the ivory or bone stick (which has indicative marks). On the other extreme, the thread is tied to the weight and the differences of weight are taken out holding the stick by the center. This scale was used in ancient China for weighing opium.
